Recovery Services Model

Learn more about our dedicated, integrated model.

Program Duration

12–16 weeks of structured, integrated recovery programming

This model is designed to address substance use disorders through a multidisciplinary, whole-person framework that integrates physical rehabilitation, clinical education, group process, individualized case management, and optional therapeutic and peer-based supports. The program emphasizes neurological restoration, executive functioning, personal accountability, and long-term recovery sustainability.

Core Program Components

1. Rehabilitative Skills Therapy

Description

Participants engage in structured, skills-based behavioral health rehabilitation activities designed to restore functional capacity and improve recovery outcomes. These services utilize structured activities, including movement-based interventions, as a therapeutic modality to develop recovery-related skills.

Therapeutic Focus

  • Emotional regulation and distress tolerance
  • Behavioral activation and routine development
  • Impulse control and decision-making
  • Stress management and physiological regulation
  • Recovery-oriented skill acquisition

Clinical Rationale

Behavioral health rehabilitation targets deficits in:

  • Executive functioning
  • Self-regulation
  • Behavioral consistency
  • Adaptive coping skills

Structured activities are used as a clinical tool, not a recreational service, to:

  • Reinforce therapeutic concepts
  • Improve engagement and retention
  • Support neurological and behavioral stabilization

Medical Necessity Alignment

Services directly address functional impairments resulting from substance use disorder, including:

  • Poor impulse control
  • Dysregulated stress response
  • Inability to maintain structured routines

Dosage

  • Session Length: 1.5 hours
  • Frequency: 3–5 times per week
  • Total Hours: 54–120 hours

2. Addiction Education & Group Therapy

Description

This component combines structured addiction education with clinically facilitated group process, delivered in an alternating weekly format. Educational sessions provide foundational knowledge, while process groups allow participants to apply insight through interpersonal engagement and emotional processing.

Clinical Rationale

Addiction education improves treatment engagement, relapse prevention capacity, and informed decision-making by strengthening insight into:

• Neurobiology of addiction
• Cravings and relapse cycles
• Cognitive distortions and defense mechanisms
• Emotional regulation and coping strategies

Group therapy further supports re-engagement of the prefrontal cortex by requiring reflection, perspective-taking, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution. Group process is widely supported as an evidence-based modality for improving interpersonal functioning and accountability.

Program Structure

• Weekly alternating format:
    • Education Session → Process Group

• Facilitated by licensed or credentialed professionals

• Curriculum aligned with evidence-based recovery principles and ethical clinical standards

Dosage

• Session Length: 1 hour 30 minutes
• Frequency: Minimum 3x per week (up to 5x per week)
• Total Hours:
    • Minimum: 54 hours
    • Maximum: 120 hours

3. Case Management & Recovery Planning

Description

Individualized case management supports each participant’s active recovery goals, addressing barriers to stability across housing, employment, legal obligations, healthcare coordination, and community reintegration.

Clinical Rationale

Effective case management reduces relapse risk by stabilizing external stressors that often undermine treatment gains. Services are goal-driven, recovery-oriented, and coordinated with the clinical and peer teams to ensure continuity of care.

Dosage

  • Session Length: Minimum 1 hour
  • Frequency: 2–3 sessions per week
  • Total Hours:
      • Minimum: 24 hours
      • Maximum: 48 hours
      • Over 12–16 weeks

Optional & Adjunctive Services

4. Peer Recovery Coaching (Optional)

Description

Participants may engage in structured peer coaching delivered by trained Peer Recovery Coaches. Coaching follows a 60-assignment curriculum designed to cascade beyond program completion, supporting long-term accountability and independence.

Focus Areas

  • Self-awareness and identity development
  • Personal responsibility and discipline
  • Service to others and community contribution
  • Application of recovery principles in real-world settings

Clinical Rationale

Peer-delivered services enhance engagement, normalize recovery challenges, and reinforce skill generalization outside of formal clinical settings. Lived-experience mentorship has demonstrated positive outcomes in retention and in the development of long-term recovery capital.

Dosage

  • Estimated Total Hours: ~40 hours during programming

5. Individual Therapy (Optional)

Description

Participants may engage in individual psychotherapy with a licensed clinician, delivered weekly or bi-weekly based on a comprehensive needs assessment.

Clinical Rationale

Individual therapy supports deeper trauma processing, co-occurring mental health treatment, and individualized clinical interventions using trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches.

Dosage

  • Total Hours:
      • Minimum: 12–16 hours
      • Additional hours as clinically indicated

Total Program Hours (IOP + Integrated Services)

Aggregate Estimated Hours

  • Minimum Total Hours: ~184 hours
  • Maximum Total Hours: ~344 hours
